What you'll be doing

The Nurse Manager participates in or is responsible for the leadership and management of nursing services in a management unit, service, complex function or facility to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

The primary purpose of the Nursing Executive Officer is to provide support to the DNMS and broader N&M team in the strategic, operational and Quality and Safety needs of the Service.

How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.

2. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the service/facility are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
3. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
4. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
5. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking to set goals, formulate plans and policies to achieve identified outcomes
6. Demonstrated understanding and participation in the implementation of organisational change, risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
7. Demonstrated understanding HR and industrial matters and demonstrated experience with high level communication, negotiation skills and written communication skills including the preparation of reports with the ability to maintain confidentiality
8. Demonstrated understanding of issues impacting on the provision of nursing and midwifery services and evidence of highly developed organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workflow to meet the needs of the DNMS, N&M Services and the organisation.
