We have an exciting opportunity available for a Health and Wellness Promoter to join our team at Mount Carmel Residential Care, located in Rosewater, SA.

About the role

The Health and Wellness Promoter actively creates opportunities for Southern Cross Care residents to participate in physical activity via individual and group exercise programs.

You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary Early Intervention team, to improve mobility and quality of life, while identifying and developing recovery pathways for those at risk of frailty and decline.

Developing and designing tailored exercise programs that suit individual resident needs and goals, your work will form part of a long term plan with residents to improve their abilities and quality of life, and will include, fitness assessment, appraisal and instruction. You will be responsible for overall gym coordination, ensuring our Health and Wellness Centre has suitable resources for programs and is well maintained for a clean, safe, welcoming environment for our residents.

About you

You are passionate about Health Ageing and quality of life for older people. You have experience in goal setting, selecting exercise programs appropriate for older individuals including those with impairments and frailty. You are a great collaborator with excellent project management, planning, and time management skills. A natural leader, you are pragmatic, an effective decision maker and problem solver who is highly organised to get the best outcomes every day.

You have a Certificate IV (or higher) in Fitness, Sport Science, Human Movement or Exercise Physiology, and accreditation with Physical Activity Australia, Fitness Australia or Exercise and Sports Science Australia (essential for this position).
