Head of Strategic Design / Innovation

Join an innovation division which is part of a global organisation based in the CBD. You will be heavily involved in helping shape and scale the innovation division which will be for both internal (incubation) and external (M&A) initiatives.

You will play a pivotal role in creating the playbook of how innovation is carried out through the organisation. It is important that this person can help drive innovation across each arm/division to create an innovative culture through the leaders in place.

Internal Innovation:

Each project is about understanding customer needs and identifying opportunities. You will need to be able to think in spaces as well as through Digital.

Have a proven track record of identifying opportunities, hypothesis and proving it to be true (and some cases not to be true). Experience in scaling from MVP into a profitable business.

With a strong understanding of design, a commercial approach to work and a consultative mentality you will work on high profile disruptive projects within a global client.
External Innovation:

Ability to identify early-stage start-ups that are right for acquisition, to increase the competitive advantage of the business. A commercial mindset is pivotal to this role.

The Role:

Supporting the Head of Innovation you will have a sound understanding of how the different elements of design fit into the overall design strategy. You will be closely involved across a project from customer research to ideation and facilitation.

The person:

An exemplary understanding of Service Design / Strategic Design, Venture Architect, Product & UX/UI and understand how they fit together in a successful design strategy
A commercial mindset. Know why products are built and how to monetize them effectively and align them to business values, needs and opportunities
A consultative approach to work - stakeholder-management at C Suite and Board level
A commercial mindset is a must, with proven experience in building products from ideation through to MVP & Scale (and IPO ideally)

Responsibilities:

Design and shape how innovation is delivered and thought about across the business.
Work on high profile strategic products for a global client
Be involved in strategic research, various hypotheses and involved in scaling new ventures.
Work on MVP's with other designers/devs
Design Led
Assist with the strategic design and foresight for projects
