The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to fill the role of Assistant Director within the Cyber Governance and Compliance Section, Cyber Security Branch.

The Cyber Security Branch is responsible for the effective and secure operation of Parliament House’s state-of-the-art digital network and computing environment, which underpins the operation of the Australian Parliament.

In support of the Australian Parliament, we regularly defend against, and prepare for, a range of cyber threats; including hacktivism, cybercrimes, cyber-attacks, cyber espionage and cyber warfare. To bolster our cyber capability, we are seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our growing team to protect this critical national institution. The successful applicant will work to uphold the integrity of Parliament House’s digital network and computing environment, and collaborate with a range of domestic cyber agencies as well as international partners representing the parliaments of the Five-Eyes intelligence alliance.

The Assistant Director, Cyber Governance and Compliance is responsible for the delivery of ICT Security governance policies, plans and procedures to embed cyberspace initiatives into the working practices of the Parliamentary Service. The Assistant Director will also drive auditing and investigation practices to ensure consistent application of those policies, plans and procedures in a risk managed approach.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the analysis, creation and consultation of security policies, plans and procedures within the context of the Australian Federal Government. Our ideal candidate will also have the ability to create audit plans, conduct technical audits and formulate and deliver critical intelligence assessments on cyberspace threats to support the ongoing enhancement of the Department’s cyber maturity.
