Remuneration & Working Hours
- Permanent full-time – 38 hours per week + reasonable additional hours
- $26 per hour basic + penalty rates applied (all according Restaurant Industry Reward)
- Salary range from $54,000 to $60,000 per annum (exclusive Superannuation)
Overview
Café 63 Intersection is looking for an experienced managing person who can lead our vibrant team to achieve high level of customer satisfaction as well as maintain high quality food and safety standards and lead by example. We are a busy café that provide in-house dining, convenience takeaway as well as fast drive-thru service from 5:30am till 9pm daily, 364 days a year (only close on Christmas Day!).
The ideal applicant will first and foremost be people oriented! If you believe you are the right person with a desire to deliver exceptional customer service, achieve realistic goals and possess the ability to lead a large team with excellent communication and social skills, then we want you!
You must be experienced in café management and able to demonstrate the following qualities:
- Minimum of 2 years experiences managing a large team (approx 15-20ppl) in a fast-paced restaurant and/or café.
- Have a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Mature minded, emotionally intelligent, dependable, punctual, organized, great time management skills
- Absolute accountability and ownership
- Ability to work flexible, sometimes long hours. You might expect to works on different shifts such as early morning, late evening and/or split shifts when needed. Weekend and Public Holiday work is compulsory
- A positive attitude with strong leadership and communication skills
- Great planning and organisational skills
- Fastidious attention to detail, whilst maintaining a practical and efficient approach to tasks
- Barista skills and experience with latte art advantageous
- KPI focused
- Clear understanding of food and beverage operations
- Strong leadership qualities to get the best of your team
Day-to-Day responsibilites
- Manage day to day operations of a busy café: ordering, stock and staff management.
- Create and deliver awesome customer experiences. This is a customer facing role and we have many loyal customers who we have been serving since the shop opened. You might expect to assist on the floor when other staffs need support.
- Recruit, manage and constantly train/up-skill staffs
- Develop and establish rosters to suit the needs of the café
- Communicate effectively with staffs across all levels all including kitchen and front of house
- Deliver and adhere to budgets and targets including operational costs to ensure café remain profitable
- Plan and deliver promotional activities and/or functions to increase and maximise shop’s revenue and profit capacity.
- Quick trouble shooting, response and resolve towards problems that arise with initiative and excellent communication (this might include customers’ complaint, suppliers’ issues and etc).
- Maintain and deliver policies and procedures aligned with franchisor standard to ensure exceptional service and food safety practices (according to local council’s policy) are executing in an on-going basis.
- You will be expected to improve existing systems using creativity and initiative
