About the role:
The role will be split between 50% clinical time and 50% non-clinical time
The successful candidate will be appointed as a Permanent Full Time Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine with the Clinical Director role offered as a fixed term contract with the possibility of an extension
The position involves coordinating the efforts of ED staff to provide the best possible clinical service and to provide Emergency Medicine clinical services
There will be a management allowance associated with this position in addition to the salary offered

About the Hospital:
Work in a new state of the art Emergency Department (ED) that provides direct patient care, clinical supervision of Junior Medical Officers and assistance with the management of ED services
Manning Base Hospital has a busy ED seeing in excess of 33,000 presentations p.a., 30-35% admission rate and 20% Paediatric case load. The ED has 2 resus bays, 14 acute beds (2 paediatric), 5 consult rooms, 1 mental health room and 1 isolation room. There are also plans to establish an ED short stay unit
Stage 1 of the Manning Base Hospital redevelopment delivered a new, $40 million purpose-built facility and included:
Eight chair renal dialysis unit, eight chair chemotherapy unit and six consultation spaces for visiting specialists.
Expansion of Medical Imaging Department complete with new MRI and a new hospital owned CT scanner replacing a privately owned machine.
Refurbishment of the main entrance on York Street.
A new car park for renal dialysis and chemotherapy patients.
An additional $100 million has been committed to stage 2 of the redevelopment and we are in the final stages of planning for that investment.

Taree is located on the Lower Mid North Coast of NSW, just 3 hours north of Sydney, 2 hours north of Newcastle and 1 hour south of Port Macquarie. The hospital serves a population of around 100,000 people and encompassing an area of 3,732 km2. The Manning Valley is home to some of the best beaches in Australia.
