The Role

Epworth Freemasons is seeking an Instrument Technician who is a quick learner and will adapt well in a fast-paced environment to join our CSSD team.

You will be supported by the CSSD Manager and CSSD Leadership team, offering a comprehensive orientation program to support your transition into your new role.

Key areas of focus for this role:

To be part of a team responsible for providing a safe and effective service in sterilisation and disinfection processes of reusable medical devices used in patient care
Appropriate use of resources, including prioritisation of work load to meet the activities of the unit
Focus on delivering results that reflect the high expectations of the team
Ensure the maintenance and understanding of the Standard AS/NZS 4187:2014 and relevant International Standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support the daily operations and service delivery
Participating in the development and implementation of the department quality activities

Skills & Experience:

The successful applicant will possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:

Certificate 3 in Health - Sterilisation Practice for Technicians
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in all areas in CSSD, with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
Experience in setting orthopaedic loan sets
Experience in working in endoscopy within the operating theatre settings
Ability to work both independently and as a part of the team
Ability to work rotating shifts across Epworth Freemasons sites
Understanding of infection control principles and OH&S safety practices
Excellent computer skills
