Tasty Hotpot Pty Ltd t/a Dragon Hot Pot Burwood is a dine-in restaurant located in Burwood East, Victoria, operating from fixed commercial premises and providing a full-service dining experience to the public. We are a team of hard working colleagues.
About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and passionate Cook to join our team. The work environment is friendly and respectful. The successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on food preparation, cooking, and supporting daily kitchen operations while maintaining compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
Mainly tasks:
· Prepare and cook a variety of dishes and hot pot items, including soups, stir-fries and other menu items in accordance with restaurant standards
· Follow established recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency in flavour, texture and presentation
· Prepare fresh ingredients, sauces, marinades and soup bases in accordance with restaurant requirements
· Assist with daily specials and kitchen preparation as directed by the manager or senior kitchen staff
· Monitor the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure all dishes meet required standards
· Ensure dishes and prepared items are portioned and presented appropriately prior to service
· Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and food preparation areas
· Comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements at all times
· Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks and replenishment of ingredients and supplies
· Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
· Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations during preparation and service periods
Qualification required:
AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or above, or equivalent relevant qualification
At least one year of full-time work experience as a Cook, or equivalent part-time experience
Essential Skills:
Broad knowledge of food safety procedures and workplace hygiene procedures
Strong communication and problem solving skills
A keen eye for detail and ability to follow processes
Ability of working in a cross-cultural environment
Highest standard of ethics, confidentiality and professionalism
Ability to work to deadlines with good leadership and time management skills
