Café De Hayley under the new management is looking for Australian Permanent Resident or/ Australian Citizen experienced chef to join our café and restaurant.
We are located in Epping NSW 2121 as a hot place and our café and restaurant is committed to preparing and presenting high quality dishes and services to meet and exceed our customer expectations with special and various Australian Modern Cuisine style menus.

POSITION: Chef
Working as a chef in Café De Hayley must possess at least 2 years of experience in Restaurant Hospitality Industry in the kitchen and AQF Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) and Diploma of Hospitality. The role reports directly to the managing director in the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring all dishes is prepared as per food presentation requirement
- Ensuring all dishes are served on time
- Designing and developing menus to reflect the quality and standard of Café De Hayley
- Paying attention to seasonal/ event availability and preparing to constantly improve menus appropriate for customer satisfaction
- Identifying customer preferences
- Presenting nutritionally balanced food in an appetizing and attractive manner at the high level of standards
- Cooking all menus with high level of taste and look good.
- Maintaining stock levels for all kitchen supplies and ensuring all stock appropriate stored in the dry store, cool room and freezer to minimise waste, to support the produce the menus
- Inspecting the stocks for damages, quality and use by dates when it’s delivered
- Ensuring food wastage, minimised by careful supervision
- Conducting regular stock takes, ensuring efficient stock utilisation as well as beverage stocks are sufficient to meet demand
- Ensuring that all menus/labour costs are correctly calculated to ensure maximise profit
- Ensuring all staff are award of their duties and what is expected of them
- Delegating duties to staffs as per requirement
- Overseeing and monitoring the work of staff to ensure all tasks are completed at the high level
- Conducting the staff performance evaluation and regularly providing performance feedback, guidance and support to staff
- Discuss about recruiting of new staff of the kitchen operation as well as front house and identifying the need for further training of current staff
- Ensuring any staffing issues are resolved fairly and quickly
- Ensuring all staff is aware of and follow safe work practices at all times
- Ensuring all staff is dressed correctly
- Maintaining the restaurant and kitchen according to OH&S principles
- Working cooperatively within the team, assisting with other staff
- Keep the good relationship with suppliers and customers
- Arranging cleaning of the venues and ensuring the venues are, at all times, clean and tidy
- Responsible for protecting the restaurant’s food and service quality
- Ensuring and inspecting the restaurant’s facilities and comply with health regulations
- Comply with Covid-19 regulations
- Providing reports to the managing director

Salary : $62,000 to 70,000 + Super
