We understand that not everyone has taken the traditional route to get to where they are today, which is why your experience counts when it comes to our practical MBA. Your experience and qualifications all form part of our entry criteria.

Applicants who wish to undertake the AIB MBA must meet the minimum criteria for the first stage of the MBA, namely the Graduate Certificate in Management.

Applicants must have ONE of the following:

Bachelor’s Degree* and at least two years relevant work experience.
Advanced Diploma* and at least three years relevant work experience.
Minimum of five years relevant work experience, which includes at least three years middle to senior management experience or significant technical experience.

Alternatively, applicants may get direct entry into the MBA if they meet the appropriate criteria.

English Requirements

Applicants, who have not completed tertiary study in English, and English is not their first language, are required to provide evidence of ONE of the following:

  • a score of 6.5 or better on the Academic IELTS (with no individual band lower than 6.0)
  • a score of 575 or better on the TOEFL
  • a score of 91 or better on the TOEFL IBT (International Benchmark Test)
  • a score of 234 or better on the TOEFL CBT (Computer Based Test)
  • a score of 58 or better on the Academic PTE (Pearson Test of English)
  • a score of 176 or better on the Cambridge English scale, CAE and CPE (from 2015)
  • an A Level qualification with a C grade or better in English in the CTC General Certificate of Education (GCE).

English language test results are valid for two years up to the date of commencement at AIB.


> Online Readiness Test: Online applicants are required to undertake and successfully complete an online readiness test to assess generic competencies and technical skills necessary to succeed in an online learning environment.

> Orientation Module: Online applicants are required to successfully complete the final quiz in the Orientation module prior to commencing the first subject.

You’ll study one subject at a time and complete it over eight weeks, with assessments along the way. You’ll benefit from knowing due dates as you commence each subject, so you can plan your studies around your life. Each subject includes a final week to reflect and recharge. And if life’s commitments get in the way of your study, you can stop and start again when it suits you.

Accelerated - Complete your MBA in as little as 24 months.

Time commitments:
We anticipate that you will spend about 150 hours per subject (or just about 20 hours per week) to complete your MBA - but this depends on you, as everyone has different levels of experience and education.

When you enrol with AIB, you’ll not only be supported by our skilful team of over 200 academic, student support and professional staff, you’ll also be assigned a dedicated Student Success Advisor, who will be with you every step of your MBA journey. They’ll know you, your concerns and aspirations and be there to support you all the way through to graduation. So you’ll never feel like you’re doing it alone.

The Agile MBA™ is divided into three equal stages:


Each subject is eight weeks and contains a mix of assessments, including assignments, quizzes, evaluated forum participation and exams, and includes one week to reflect and recharge

Interactive Online Classes
For each and every subject in the MBA, you will join an Online Class - here you will have the opportunity to engage with fellow like-minded students in forums and webinars, progressively complete assessments to help cement your understanding of theories, and have key concepts explained to you by your Online Tutor in webinars and in the online forum.

Effective assessments
Using online learning best practice, you’ll have a variety of assessment which may include quizzes, forum discussions, assignments and exams. Additionally, alongside our commitment to practical learning, your final project can address an area of your workplace or business.

All assessment due dates are provided two weeks in advance of each subject start date, so you can plan your study around your family life, commitments or obligation

This year, Graduate Management Admission Council reported healthy demand for recent graduates—especially MBA holders—and an increase in salaries on the horizon.
