This course is designed for people working towards university entrance and becoming building professionals. This program gives participants a feel for all components of construction management through theoretical knowledge and integrated learning that takes you out of the classroom and onto the job site.

Throughout your studies you’ll also have exposure to domestic and commercial building sites.


Successful completion of Builders Academy Australia’s (BAA) Building Leadership Program provides credit towards entry to the following courses at Victoria University: 

  • Bachelor of Building Surveying (NBBS)
  • Bachelor of Building Design (NBBD)
  • Bachelor of Construction Management (Honors)

BAA’s building leadership program will see graduates complete a;

  • CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building); and
  • CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building).

The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA)

No entry requirements

44 Weeks of delivery over a twelve-month calendar period.

This involves;

  • 2.5 Days per week of face to face campus delivery  
  • Half a day per week Self Directed Online study (SDOL)
  • Total of 21 hours per week face to face and self-directed online study
  • 8 hours per week outside of classroom hours to complete your studies

Among other things, you'll learn how to:

  • Apply, monitor and supervise construction work for medium rise building projects
  • Identify, produce and monitor costs for building and construction projects
  • Recruit and manage staff and building and construction contractors
  • Supervise and apply quality standards
  • Manage and monitor budgets and financial plans
  • Recruit, supervise and manage teams
  • Manage project costs, risk and quality
  • Understand legal requirements, building codes and standards
  • Manage occupation health and safety in a building and construction workplace
  • Plan, prepare and manage construction projects
  • Supervise staff during construction work
  • Manage small business finances
