The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety does give you the underpinning knowledge required to assist in managing work, health and safety within the workplace. Our program will prepare you to implement and monitor risk prevention measures, respond to emergencies, and evaluate policies and procedures. These skills translate into real world leadership potential, gearing you for roles such as WHS Officers/ Co-coordinators, advisors and facilitators.

Virtual Campus Online: 1 night per week, 26 weeks.

Our Virtual Classroom is an interactive alternative to traditional online classes.  You will  be able to attend from the comfort of your own home while maintaining all the benefits that come with direct communication and interaction between yourself, your trainer and your fellow classmates.

Students login to a virtual classroom environment at set class times from their homes or offices or any other location where they can access the internet via their laptop or PC with a microphone and camera. Trainers deliver each session live with students interacting in real time with other students and the Trainer.  Each session is recorded with students able to go back in at a later date and re-watch sections of interest.

 

 

THROUGH PROJECT BASED LEARNING, YOU WILL COVER:

WHS Compliance    

 

  • Assist with compliance with WHS laws
  • Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements

Implementing WHS Systems   

 

  • Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS consultation and participation processes
  • Contribute to WHS hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
  • Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS management systems

Manage contractors

 

  • Assist with effective WHS management of contractors 

Sustainable Work Practices     

 

  • Implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices

Responding to and reporting on Incidents and planning to meet safety requirements           

 

  • Assist with responding to incidents
  • Write complex documents
  • Contribute to work-related health and safety measures and initiatives
