Before joining the HCA team in 1995, David held numerous positions at CablePrice, the wholly owned HCM dealer in New Zealand. David is the Managing Director of HCA and also a member of the HCM Executive team as a Senior Officer; the Regional General Manager responsible for Oceania; the Chairman of Cable Price (NZ) Ltd, and a Director of Marubeni Equipment Finance.
David thrives on the challenge of leading the largest HCM dealership globally. He advocates the company’s vision of Total Customer Satisfaction working with customers and staff at an individual level.
David has been instrumental in driving the HCA brand forward and is at the forefront of innovative projects such as the modern site in Brisbane and the planned state-of-the-art facility, in Perth. David champions the company’s corporate social responsibility activities through safety and his ongoing support of charities.
Mutsumi Kitai joined Hitachi Construction Machinery Tokyo (HCM) in 2003, bringing with him over 30 years of experience working in the construction machinery business. Beginning his HCM journey in the International Business Development department, he was soon appointed General Manager of Business Development.
Throughout his career, Mutsumi has been fortunate to work with different cultures including President of Hitachi Construction Machinery Middle East Corporation (HMEC) until 2013. These experiences continue to inspire Mutsumi to contribute to society through his work.
Joining Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) this year, he brings with him sound practice working in both domestic and international roles and emulates the core values HCA stand by.
As Deputy Managing Director, Kitai oversees the management of HCA and supports the communication between HCM and its group companies.
Joining the team in 1999, Charles has been instrumental in the growth and overall success of HCA. He has witnessed HCA embrace new technologies which have led to increased efficiency and satisfaction amongst employees.
Charles has held various roles in finance and brings his extensive experience to HCA where he approaches each task with enthusiasm and energy. Charles works to seek solutions to overcome new and existing challenges.
As the Director of Financial & IT Services Charles has worked closely with the respective managing directors of HCA which have been influential in his career. He prioritises safety and believes that individual and business integrity should never be compromised.
Gilberto has held various roles at HCA, from sales to local operations exposing him to the overall business. He has led changes in the HCA business model for the Hunter Valley branch achieving improved performance and customer service. Gilberto looks forward to continuing to lead and participate in HCA’s growth.
Prior to joining HCA, Gilberto participated in a twelve month civil contract in Mozambique, sponsored by the World Bank. The project was responsible for the emergency rehabilitation of intercity roads following the civil war. He was fortunate to be present at the first ever democratic elections supervised by the United Nations.
On a personal level, Gilberto is influenced by Nelson Mandela and his ability to change, forgive and adapt to the modern world.
Ray is responsible for all branches throughout Australia. He has held various management roles within HCA and the broader construction and mining industry over the last 28 years including service, manufacturing, training, marketing, sales and operations. Working throughout Australia, USA, South America and Europe Ray brings valuable experience to HCA.
Ray is influenced by events and experiences in his life such as the skills learnt from Six Sigma methodologies which have had a profound impact on the way he makes business decisions. Ray is a strong believer in having a consistent and structured methodology in the way he conducts business, reviewing facts and assessing the impacts to make the most prudent decisions for HCA.
