What clothes reveal
SEXY dresses could diminish the chances of success at an interview and could hinder career progression in executive positions, research from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, says. Quoting the findings, Rhyl Nayler, director of Nayler Business Solutions, says, "Increasingly too many Australian women are wearing more revealing clothes to work. This is encouraged by our hotter climate and more relaxed dress codes, particularly in capital cities such as Brisbane and Perth.
But underdressing or dressing sexily for an executive job is one of the fastest ways to lose credibility. It amazes me that even at mid-management level some women have relaxed their dress sense -- if you want to be promoted within a business, you need to be taken seriously. This relates to not only your ability to get the job done but also how you present [yourself].''
