Established in 1977, Bobcat of Bendigo was founded by Ron Delecca, a motor mechanic with a passion for cars and all things mechanical. At that time Ron Delecca Autos repaired cars, trucks and other machinery. Ron's wife, Leigh, joined the business in 1982, taking on finance, administration and reception.
A Bobcat dealer since 1987, the business became Bobcat of Bendigo in 1996, with a total focus on all Bobcat machinery, attachments, spare parts, accessories and workshop services. The business also stocks Karcher, Rapid Spray, Digga, and SureWeld and in 2015 became the Australian distributor for Ausa and its range of all terrain forklifts.
Bobcat of Bendigo now has around 17 employees, with Ron and Leigh welcoming their son Jason into the business in 2006. Jason, a qualified panel beater and diesel mechanic, virtually grew up in the Bobcat of Bendigo workshops, which fostered his interest in mechanics and intimate knowledge of Bobcat machines. Jason is now Bobcat of Bendigo's Sales Manager and is instrumental in building the business and its product and service range.
With the business growing fast, Bobcat of Bendigo relocated to a large site at 116 Marong Road in late 2014. With a bigger workshop space for servicing, and more accommodation for the hire fleet and new vehicles, Bobcat of Bendigo now has the most extensive range of earthmoving and materials handling equipment in regional south-east Australia.
